Tamil Nadu participated in the World Economic Forum's (WEF) Annual Meeting. Davos, for the first time in 2022 and delivered a wealth of information on investing in the State to some of the world's leading investors, leaders of the industry, and representatives of various governments. This year, Tamil Nadu's participation in the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting 2023 at Davos is much bigger and has drawn greater global attention to the remarkable economy and industrial ecosystem of the State. With a larger high-powered delegation representing Tamil Nadu this year, the State's participation brings more valuable insights and information to investors looking to invest in the State.

Tamil Nadu's participation in WEF's Annual Meeting 2023 at Davos began with the official inauguration of the Tamil Nadu Lounge at Promenade 73, Davos, by the Hon'ble Minister for Industries, Investment Promotion, and Commerce, Thiru. Thangam Thennarasu. With the cutting of the ribbon, the Tamil Nadu Lounge was declared officially open and has already attracted many global investors and industry leaders keen to know more about investing in the State.

A crucial aspect of Tamil Nadu's investment promotion push at Davos this year is a series of meetings with key leaders of governments around the world, government agencies and their representatives to explore fundamental investor interest in their respective countries. The delegation highlighted Tamil Nadu's strong economy and high-growth industrial ecosystem as a bulwark of resilience in the face of global supply chain headwinds. Tamil Nadu's participation at WEF's Annual Meeting 2023 is also one of the key events in the run-up to the State's Global Investors Meet (GIM) scheduled to be held from 10-11 January 2024.

As a key speaker at the World Economic Forum's event titled 'Navigating the Next Chapter of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the Hon'ble Minister for Industries, Investment Promotion, and Commerce, Thiru. Thangam Thennarasu outlined Tamil Nadu's spectacular industrial growth chart, its prospering and stable economy, and the State's emergence as a global manufacturing hub. He also spoke about Tamil Nadu as South Asia's first and only Advanced Manufacturing Hub (AMHUB) and how the State is leading from thefrontlines in the global switch to Industry 4.0 technologies for more efficient and intelligent manufacturing.
